At The Toy Adoption Company, safety is incredibly important to us.

All of our soft toys are carefully inspected before they’re made available for adoption. We thoroughly check each one for loose parts, tears, or anything that could pose a risk — especially for young children. Toys with any damage that might lead to a choking hazard or other safety concern will never be approved for child use.

Some of our soft toys are best suited to adult collectors or older children due to their vintage nature or wear. If a toy is not suitable for children under 14, this will be clearly marked with a WARNING on the toy’s profile and product details.

While most of our toys are safe for general use, we always recommend supervision for young children and regular checks to ensure their condition remains safe over time. Just like any other toy, wear and tear can happen.

Please note: It is advised that babies under 12 months do not sleep with soft toys, regardless of their condition or origin, to reduce the risk of suffocation or accidental harm.

After their refresh, toys are listed in our online store with their own profile, photo, and backstory. Each one is one-of-a-kind, and waiting for a second chance.

Whether it's a birthday, a baby shower, a "thinking of you" moment, or just a random act of kindness, you can adopt a toy on someone else’s behalf.

At checkout, simply tick the “This is a gift” option and pop your message into the notes — we’ll handwrite it and tuck it inside the package. No prices, no receipts — just one soft toy, lovingly wrapped and ready to be welcomed.

✨ Please remember: use your own address for billing, and your recipient’s address for shipping. That way, your gift lands in the right lap with no hiccups.

Each eco-friendly soft toy is gently nestled into a sturdy, recyclable box designed to keep it snug and protected on its journey home.

To keep your new friend safe from bumps along the way, we use eco-friendly protective wrap — because protecting the planet is just as important as protecting our toys.

Adopting more than one toy? If they fit safely, we’ll package them together to reduce waste. Prefer them packaged separately? Just leave us a note at checkout — we’re happy to help.

Your toy will arrive ready to be hugged, cherished, and welcomed into their new forever home — sustainably and sweetly, of course.

Delivery times vary depending on the shipping option you choose at checkout and where you’re located — but don’t worry, everything will be clearly outlined before you complete your order.

As a general guide:

• Standard Shipping (within Australia): 3–8 business days

• Express Shipping (within Australia): 1–3 business days

• International Shipping: Timeframes vary, but usually 7–20 business days depending on location

Once your adopted toy leaves our HQ, we’ll send you an email to let you know they’re on their way. If you’ve chosen a tracked shipping option, you’ll receive a tracking number so you can follow their journey — right to your doorstep.

We promise to pack your toy with care and send them off promptly, ready to be loved again in their new forever home.

We do everything we can to ensure your adopted toy arrives safe, sound, and ready for cuddles. However, once a parcel leaves our hands, it’s in the care of third-party delivery providers — and while it’s rare, delays or lost packages can occasionally happen.

If your package hasn’t arrived within the expected timeframe, please get in touch. We’ll review the situation and work with you to find the best solution.

For peace of mind, we strongly recommend selecting tracked shipping (available for both domestic and international orders), or express post with signature on delivery within Australia. These options allow you to follow your toy’s journey every step of the way.

We’re also working towards making tracked delivery our standard for all Australian customers — we’ll keep you updated as this rolls out.

We hope your new friend brings joy — but if things don’t work out, that’s okay.

If you're not completely happy with your adopted toy, we’re happy to offer a full refund, as long as the toy is returned to us within 30 days of delivery and in the same condition it was received.

Simply reach out to our team and we’ll guide you through the return process. Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.
