He loves antiques, television shows about wartime and telling stories that begin, “When I was a young bear…” His favourite chair is reserved for him, and he expects the remote to be returned to its proper place. Beneath that grumpy expression is a soft heart. Bring him a cup of tea and ask about his old clock, and you’ll be friends for life.
